Retrieving/Activating CMU Institutional Email for Officially Enrolled Students

For the student who officially enrolled (i.e., validated by their College Registrar, included in the official class list, paid tuition fee thru cashier, etc.) for this 1st semester SY 2020-2021, you can activate or retrieve your institutional email starting August 12, 2020.

Note: You only have 24 hours to activate or retrieve your institutional email. Failure to do will result to changed default password.

  • Scenario 1: The student was officially enrolled on or before August 12, 2020.
  • Action 1: You can activate or retrieve your institutional email starting August 12, 2020, at 9:00 am.
  • Scenario 2: The student was officially enrolled after August 12, 2020 (enrolled on August 13, 2020 and onwards).
  • Action 2: You can activate or retrieve your institutional email starting August 20, 2020, at 12:01 am.

To activate or retrieve your institutional email:

  • Click sign in. (You may logout your existing Gmail and sign in using a different account or add accounts)
  • Enter your institutional email based on the default format provided (starts with letter “s” for the students, all lowercase)
  • Click Next.

Default Format:

s.lastname.firstname@cmu.edu.ph

Example 1:

  • Name of Student: Juan R. Pablo
  • Institutional Email: s.pablo.juan@cmu.edu.ph

Example 2:

  • Name of Student with extension: Juan R. Pablo II
  • Institutional Email: s.pabloii.juan@cmu.edu.ph
  • Remarks: ii is added to surname

Example 3:

  • Name of Student with extension: Juan R. Pablo Jr.
  • Institutional Email: s.pablojr.juan@cmu.edu.ph
  • Remarks: jr is added to surname

Example 4:

  • Name of Student with 2 to 3 first names: Juan Pedro Markos R. Pablo
  • Institutional Email: s.pablo.juanpedro@cmu.edu.ph
  • Remarks: only 2 first names will be added, the third will be disregarded

Example 5:

  • Name of Student with dash (-): Juan R. Ani-on
  • Institutional Email: s.aninon.juan@cmu.edu.ph
  • Remarks: dash sign (-) will be disregarded

Example 6:

  • Name of Student with “enye” (ñ): Juan R. Baños
  • Institutional Email: s.banos.juan@cmu.edu.ph
  • Remarks: enye (ñ) will be changed to n

After you have formatted your institutional email you may continue the following:

  • Enter your password. The default password for student institutional email is your student ID number (i.e., 2020123456).
  • Click the “I Agree” option.
  • You will be directed to your new Gmail Inbox using your institutional email.

Note: You are REQUIRED to fill out the Student Profiling Survey. Your responses will be the bases for the modality of teaching-learning delivery per student this 1st Semester, S.Y. 2020-2021. You may access the survey questionnaire through the following link: devops.cmu.edu.ph/sps
